Man faces manslaughter, DUI charges for fatal Richmond hit and run

RICHMOND, VA (WTVR) - Richmond Police arrested a man in connection with a fatal hit and run early Friday morning in Richmond.
It happened around 2:30 a.m. Friday in the 400 block of North 8th Street.
According to police, 47-year-old Bruce Lee Carter of Richmond was walking in the 400 block of North 8th Street around 2:15 a.m. when he was hit by a car.The driver left the scene of the accident.
Police said they found Carter in the middle of the street when they arrived.
He was taken to VCU Medical Center where he died from his injuries.
About 30 minutes after the accident, officers patrolling Shockoe Bottom saw a car with front-end damage traveling in the 1800 block of East Cary Street.The officers charged the driver, 47-year-old Andre U. Vaughan of the 1500 block of North 21st Street, with manslaughter and driving under the influence of alcohol.
