Murder suspect nabbed at initiation school

Dedicated cops hauled a murder suspect out of initiation school in the bush after a manhunt that spanned two provinces.
Late on Thursday night, the 21-year-old and two other men also accused of murder were brought back to the Mother City under the cover of darkness.
They had been on the run for at least a month and had been hiding out at different houses in the Eastern Cape.
The 21-year-old initiate was arrested on Tuesday at his shack in the bush in Queenstown after a tip-off that he was ready to celebrate his return home as a man.
Currently held at Nyanga Police Station, he now faces double murder charges for the deaths of Andile Pikili, 32, and Mayibongwe Mvimbi, 29, in a shebeen in Crossroads on November 27.
The 21-year-old is alleged to have had an argument with Andile when he fired a shot through his head, killing him instantly.
The same bullet allegedly travelled through Andile's head and smashed into Mayobingwe's skull, killing him on the spot as well.
News of the youngster's arrest was welcomed by community workers who say he has been terrorising them.
"We heard that his family was preparing to celebrate his return from the mountain (when he was arrested)," says a community worker who chose not to be identified.
"This has taken them by surprise and the community is happy to hear such good news.
"Thanks to the police for a job well done."
Nyanga police spokeswoman Ntomboxolo Sitshitshi says the suspect was out on parole at the time of the murders and is also implicated in another case of attempted murder.
"His alleged victims are still being treated in hospital for bullet wounds to their bodies," she says.
Sitshitshi says the suspect will appear in Athlone Magistrates' Court on Friday.
The two other men brought to Nyanga Police Station were arrested in Mthatha on Monday.
The 22 and 23-year-olds were wanted for a November 18 murder in Brown's Farm.
They allegedly shot and killed a man during a robbery before fleeing to the Eastern Cape.
"The two suspects have been wanted for a case of murder and were both arrested on the same day from their homes (in the Eastern Cape).
"Both suspects will appear in Athlone Magistrates' Court on a charge of murder," Sitshitshi says. - Daily Voice
