Fredericton Police rule woman's death a homicide

The Fredericton Police are ruling the 2008 death of Patricia Ann Kucerovsky a homicide and are indicating that she died as a result of heavy metal poisoning.

The police issued a statement on Monday morning saying Kucerovsky's death has been deemed a homicide.

"It was determined early that the cause of death was suspicious and a very complex investigation has ensued," the police statement said.

"During the intervening months, as increasing information came to light, the death was considered to be a homicide by the criminal investigation division. The cause of death is believed to be heavy metal poisoning."

Kucerovsky was a 43-year-old teacher and mother of two, who lived in the Beechwood Crescent area.

Kucerovsky died at the Dr. Everett Regional Hospital on Aug. 19, 2008. The police started an investigation on Aug. 22.

The police arrested an adult Fredericton man, but the individual was released unconditionally.

The investigation is continuing.
