Homicide suspects linked to other crime
TULSA - Homicide investigators say two men involved in a fatal shooting of a convenience store employee may have robbed another store four days earlier.
Peggy Gaytan, 55, was shot dead by a masked man Dec. 22 at a Shell gas station near 36th and South Harvard.
Authorities say the two men may have intended to only rob the store, but one of the suspects instead shot Gaytan from point blank range.
Two masked men wearing similar clothing and shoes robbed a Ryan's convenience store near 21st and South Garnett Dec. 18.
No one was hurt in the Dec. 18 robbery.
Investigators say the men involved have likely spoken about the incident.
"We are confident that this heinous crime so close to Christmas will be solved by someone that has been told about this crime from one or both of the suspects," said Sgt. Dave Walker with the Tulsa Police Department.
Police describe the shooter involved in Gaytan's murder as a white man, between 19 and 23 years old, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing between 150 to 170 pounds.
He was armed with a semi automatic handgun, wearing a royal blue hooded sweatshirt and a black ski mask, black gloves, black jeans and white shoes.
