Woman involved in December stabbing charged with murder
Charges against the woman accused of stabbing 21-year-old Fatima Barrie outside of a downtown nightclub have been upgraded to murder.Police say 19-year-old Kaitlyn Ritcherson stabbed Barrie in the chest outside of a club on West Fifth Street in the early morning hours of Dec 4.
Barrie was transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge where she was placed on life support.
According to a statement from Huston-Tilltotson University, where Barrie was a track and field athlete, she died Wednesday night.Ritcherson was indicted earlier Wednesday by a Travis County Grand Jury on a charge of aggravated assault, but the charge was upgraded to murder after Barrie’s death.
She remains in Travis County jail on $125,000 bond.
