ELGIN, Ill., Dec. 19 (UPI) -- A 28-year-old woman is facing a first-degree murder charge in the death of a 61-year-old Illinois man whose burned body was found in his apartment, police said.

The Chicago Tribune reported Jessica Leach of Elgin was to have a bond hearing Monday morning in Kane County.

Elgin police said there was a second suspect, as well, in the Saturday death of James S. Granger, the Chicago Sun-Times said. No charges had been filed against that person.

Authorities suspect the pair intended to rob Granger, who knew Leach, and then set fire to his apartment after he was killed.
