Police investigate Lake Nona double homicide

Orlando police continue to investigate a double homicide that occurred at a home in the Lake Nona area Sunday night.

Police have not released new details in the case, including the two victims' identities. Investigators also have not publicly identified the suspect, who was shot by an officer and is being treated at an area hospital.

Police received a call for a shooting about 7:20 p.m. at a home on the 8000 block of Northlake Parkway, located in the Water's Edge at Lake Nona community.

Officers surrounded the 2,500-square-foot home and said the suspected fled through a back door.

There, he was confronted by officers and shot, Orlando police said.

The man was transported to a local hospital and was in stable condition early Monday morning.

Officers found two people dead inside the home.

WFTV reported the two fatalities were women who had been shot to death: the suspect's wife and her mother.
