Blount County homicide suspect extradited from Detroit
MARYVILLE — A Blount County homicide suspect arrested last week at the U.S.-Canadian border has been extradited to face charges.
Clinton Garrett Walton, 30, of Maryville was served with a warrant on a criminal homicide charge today after being returned to Blount County from Detroit on Saturday night, according to a news release from the Blount County Sheriff's Office.
He also faces two charges of auto theft.
Walton currently is being held in the Blount County Detention Facility in lieu of bonds totaling $ 1.1 million.
He is charged with killing Brian David Fann, 37, who was found dead inside his Walland home on Feb. 10.
Walton was stopped by the Canadian Royal Mounted Police and U.S. Border Patrol agents as he attempted to flee the county in the early morning hours of Feb. 11.
The suspect is set to appear in Blount County General Sessions Court on Thursday.
