At 9:04 p.m., officers were called to the 3600 block of Hudson Street where they found a man lying next to a vehicle, said Sonny Jackson, spokesman for the Denver Police Department.
The man, whose name has not been released, had what appeared to be gunshot wounds to his torso.
He was taken to Denver Health Medical Center where he was pronounced dead shortly after.
At this time police do not have any suspect information, but they believe there are witnesses to the shooting.
What prompted the shooting is still under investigation, Jackson said.
