Choctaw Police Investigate Homicide AFter Body Found In Ditch
The OSBI is assisting the Choctaw Police Department in its first homicide investigation in four years.
Choctaw Police are investigating their first homicide in four years after someone found a man dead Tuesday morning on the side of the road.
Neighbors called police around 7:30 a.m. when they saw the victim near N.E. 23rd Street and Henney. At first, they thought a driver whose vision was impeded by the thick fog may have hit a jogger. But Choctaw Police don't believe that's what happened.
"I just come up on a car stopped in the road and when I stopped I seen the body lying in the ditch," said Mike Winfrey. "I couldn't tell if it was a man or woman."
Police said the man was killed sometime between midnight and early Tuesday morning. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has is also looking into the homicide.
The victim's name has not been released. Police have only said he's a white male.
