Homicide follows Vancouver family argument
One person is dead and another is in police custody following a Valentine's Day domestic dispute in East Vancouver.
Police were called to a two-storey home on East Georgia Street around 6 p.m. PT Tuesday.
When asked to confirm reports there had been a shooting, Vancouver police Insp. Glenn Newman said few details would be revealed until relatives were notified.
"I'm not going to comment on any form of how the person passed away. It's obvious there's a lot of trauma to the family here," Newman said.
A young child was removed from the home physically unharmed after police were called.
Police spokesman Const. Lindsey Houghton said he hoped to have more information at a media briefing Wednesday.
