Stockton reaches 60th homicide of the year

STOCKTON, Calif. —

On Sunday, the Stockton Police Department was busy investigating the city's 60th homicide of the year.  The deadly shooting happened on Fox Creek Drive in North Stockton.

Investigators told KCRA 3 that just before 10:30 p.m. on Saturday a 20-year-old man was shot and killed for unknown reasons.

Moments later a 22-year-old man showed up to pick up relatives on Fox Creek Drive.  The suspects shot at the car full of children, investigators said.

Bullets hit the driver and a 9-year-old boy, investigators said.

a 5- year-old, a 4-year-old and a 5-month-old baby were also in the car, but they were not hurt.

The man and the boy shot in the car are in stable condition at the hospital and are expected to be OK.

Investigators said they need help to help solve this case.  They don't have any information on the suspects.

This is the 60th homicide for Stockton, beating last year's record of 58 homicides for the city.

Ten homicides occurred just in the last 8 days.
