Jury discharged in SA murder case
A JURY has been discharged in the attempted murder case against a man accused of stabbing another man outside an Adelaide tattoo parlour.
Hameed Ullah Dastagir, 26, had been on trial charged over the stabbing of Giovanni Focarelli in 2010.
But on Friday Justice Kevin Nicholson of the Supreme Court of South Australia dismissed the jury, calling a halt to the trial after jurors had been deliberating for more than eight hours.
The issue related to information from one of the jurors.
He said while he regretted the decision it was made in fairness to both parties.
The case is expected to return to court at a later date.
