Murder inquiry over crash death

A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a 24-year-old hit by a car in Berkshire.

Simon Large, from London, passed away on Sunday at St George's Hospital where he was being treated for his injuries.

Two men appeared at Slough Magistrates Court last Wednesday in relation the incident in Ascot on 14 October.

One was charged with attempted murder the other with perverting the course of justice. Both are due to appear at Reading Crown Court on 14 January.

Two other men, aged 20 and 24, also from Slough were arrested in connection with this incident and have been released on bail until 10 December.

Ch Insp Lee Townsend, said: "This incident last weekend in the early hours on the streets of Ascot has had tragic consequences for the victim."
