Homicide charges for Cavite cop

CAMP GEN. PANTALEON GARCIA, IMUS, Cavite – Police Officer 3 Alvaro R. Amba Jr. remained at large, a week after the fatal shooting of two brothers at a basketball court of a subdivision in the city, police officials said.

This developed as Imus police is set to file two counts of homicide charges against Amba in connection with the brothers' killing.

Amba is the president of Phase II Green Gate Subdivision in Barangay Malagasang II-B and operations man of Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) Intelligence Branch (S-2).

The police offi cer allegedly shot one Haeckel R. Escallado, 34, an Army man, and brother Aries, 31, during an altercation allegedly on the playing schedule of the basketball court in their neighborhood.

Senior Supt. John C. Bulalacao, Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) director, and Supt. Romeo A. Baleros, deputy director for administration and concurrent chief, said that Amba has not shown up as of presstime time even as he has sent surrender feelers.

Supt. Gerardo L. Umayao, Imus police officer-in-charge (OIC), citing reports of Senior Police Officer 1 Jose S. Mangmang and Police Officer III Michael F. Formoso, case investigators, said that the Amba was last seen fleeing on board a vehicle after shooting the two brothers. (Anthony Giron)
