North Side Homicide Still Unsolved After 4 Years

COLUMBUS, Ohio --

Central Ohio Crime Stoppers and Columbus Police are hoping that fresh tips can help solve a homicide cold-case.

At 1 a.m. On September 4, 2008, Crime Stoppers said that Columbus police officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of Graniteway Lane on a report of a shooting. That's inside the Hickory Grove apartment complex.

Officers found 25-year-old O'Brian Anthony lying in the doorway of an apartment. Crime Stoppers said that he had been shot.

Anthony was pronounced dead at 1:13 a.m.

According to Crime Stoppers, an investigation revealed Anthony had been in a dispute in the courtyard in front of the residence and the suspect may have attempted to rob him.

The suspect was seen running from the area in the direction of Shanley Drive.
Central Ohio Crime Stoppers has posted a reward of up to $ 2,000 for any information received by April 25, 2012, leading to the arrest and/or indictment of the persons responsible for this crime.

Flint's battlefield: A three-year murder map

FLINT, MI -- There have been 189 murders in the city since 2010. Below is a map of the locations of each murder in the last three years, as well as the names of the slain on Flint's battlefield. The spike in murders occurred almost immediately after large-scale layoffs in March of 2010. By year's end the city had set a record with 66 murders, breaking the previous mark of 61 set in 1986. Killing continued in 2011 with 57 murders. A look at the map shows the majority of the murders took place on the north and east sides, historically the most economically depressed areas of the city. Slain woman is Camden’s 67th murder victim this year

Emily Babay, Breaking News Desk Posted: Monday, December 17, 2012, 1:51 PM Camden's murder total for 2012 reached a record 67 late Sunday, when a 25-year-old woman was gunned down outside her home. Rasheeda Pegues was found slain on the 2000 block of Ferry Avenue shortly after 11 p.m., the Camden County Prosecutor's Office said. She had died from multiple gunshot wounds. No arrests have been made in the killing. The murder is Camden's 67th this year, far surpassing the city's previous record of 58, set in 1995. Pegues' death was the second killing in Camden over the weekend. On Saturday night, 36-year-old Rahkeem Byrd was shot inside a house on the 1100 block of Thurman Street and died at a hospital.
