EVERETT -- Police in Everett are investigating a homicide after a body was found outside a vacant house at 22 Madison St. Tuesday evening, officials said.
A neighbor spotted the man, believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s, on the ground near a garage on the property. He called 9-1-1 around 6:20 p.m.
The house is vacant and owned by a bank, Everett police Lt. Robert Goetz said.
A decision quickly was made to call the Major Crimes Unit and the property was closed off to passersby.
"It was obvious trauma that gave clear indication of a homicide," Goetz said.
Goetz said he could not yet say how they believe the man died. There are no suspects
Detectives received a search warrant around 11:45 p.m. and collected evidence at the scene.
The victim's identity has not been determined by Wednesday morning, Goetz said.
The body was turned over to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office.

For nearly six years, they were locked up facing a possible death sentence for a grisly 2001 triple homicide in Ypsilanti Township. FLINT, MI -- There have been 189 murders in the city since 2010. Below is a map of the locations of each murder in the last three years, as well as the names of the slain on Flint's battlefield. The spike in murders occurred almost immediately after large-scale layoffs in March of 2010. By year's end the city had set a record with 66 murders, breaking the previous mark of 61 set in 1986.
