Man charged with reckless homicide in deadly Dan Ryan crash

A man who ran allegedly away from a crash that killed his back seat passenger on the Dan Ryan Expressway was ordered held on $ 400,000 bail this week.
Raheem M. Dennard, 25, is facing reckless homicide and leaving the scene of an accident charges for the April 21st crash near 47th Street, police said.
The 2004 Lincoln LS was in Dennard had been traveling at a high rate of speed when it
crashed through the guard rail, went up the grassy embankment, hit an electrical traffic box and came to rest on a retaining wall, according to Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Joe Stangl.
One passenger, 26-year-old Deandre M. Phair of the 8400 block of South Marquette Avenue, died on the scene, authorities said.
Another man was also taken in critical condition to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, fire officials said.
Dennard turned himself into Illinois State Police on Tuesday and was identified by the surviving passenger as being the driver, a police source said.
