Investigators in Edmonton say a string of vehicle thefts in Regina and Saskatoon are linked to a homicide in their city in 2011.

According to a news release from Edmonton, John Kwiatkowski, 29, was found in his home "the victim of a violent murder" in early April of that year. Police are refusing to say how Kwiatkowski died, saying they want to hold on to that information to protect their investigation.

On Tuesday, police said four vehicles, a sedan, SUV, Jeep and truck have yielded clues linking them to the man's death.

"Based on the timeline and geographic locations of each theft and recovery of the vehicles in question, we feel at least one of the persons involved in the homicide used these stolen vehicles to travel from Regina to Saskatoon, and then to Edmonton, just a few days before Kwiatkowski was killed on April 14, 2011," Det. Colin Derksen, a homicide investigator on the case, said. "Various property items found in the recovered vehicles further link them together."

Police added that in one of the vehicles, a stolen Jeep, they found family video associated with the man who was killed and a pair of his bloody shoes.

Anyone with information on the vehicles is being asked to call police.

The vehicles are:

  • 2009 Subaru Forester SUV, grey. Stolen from Regina in April 2011 and recovered in Saskatoon.
  • 2010 Ford Fusion Sedan, blue. Stolen from Saskatoon in April 2011 and recovered in Saskatoon.
  • GMC Canyon Truck, red. Stolen from Saskatoon in April 2011 and recovered in Edmonton.
  • 2006 Jeep Cherokee Laredo, red. Stolen from Edmonton in April 2011 and recovered in Edmonton.

Edmonton police added that their investigation has led them to some people "of interest" in Alberta and Saskatchewan. "Our attention is definitely focused on these individuals for additional information," Derksen said.

She's Going Places - A Song For Little Caylee Anthony

In light of the controversial acquittal of Casey Anthony, who was accused of killing her adorable 2-year-old daughter Caylee, Rascal Flatts' lead singer, Gary LeVox, co-penned a tribute song called 'She's Going Places' to the little girl. Country parody singer Cledus T Judd got serious, along with Jimmy Yeary, to co-write this piano-driven ballad. A Nashville demo singer also contributes vocals to the song. I do not own anything in the video, including the audio and photos. The credits belong to the respective owners. This video is purely fan-made, and will not be used for profit or illegal sharing. Thanks. She was just a baby, barely 2 years old A story that shouldn't have to be told See that little girl with big brown eyes Stole our hearts and touched our lives Now we cry, 'cause we can't understand You see she wanted to learn to play guitar, Be a ballerina or movie star She could've gone so far She can be anything that she wants to She can ride her bike every afternoon She can laugh and play With her dolls and games Just like all little girls should get to do Too young for her life to be taken She's going places I bet she'd spend her time skipping rope Drawing rainbows on streets that are paved with gold Get to ride a big wheel jumping curbs In a parking lot of a great big church And I wish I could see it all But her memory will live on right here Till i get over there And see her again She can be anything that she wants to She can ride her bike every afternoon She ...
