Warwick homicide suspect indicted

WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) - A Providence man accused of murdering another man in a case of mistaken identity has been indicted on several charges.
Tony Gonzalez is accused of shooting Carl Cunningham, Jr., 23, of Warwick, in January of 2012.
Investigators said Gonzalez showed up at the home of his ex-girlfriend, looking for her new boyfriend.
A friend who she was not dating, Carl Cunningham, Jr., just happened to be there.
Cunningham was shot after and he and Gonzalez got into a fight. Cunningham later died from his injuries.
Gonzalez has been held without bail since his arrest on January 23, 2012.
Gonzalez has been charged with one count each of murder in the first degree; assault with intent to commit murder; discharge of a firearm while committing a crime of violence, murder; and discharge of a firearm with committing a crime of violence, assault with intent to commit murder.
He is scheduled to be arraigned in Kent County Superior Court on June 8.
