Homicide detectives investigating after person set on fire
KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -
Kansas City police responded to a report of a burned body near 19th Street and Brooklyn Avenue Monday night.
Chopper5 captured video of what appeared to be a smoldering body in the parking lot near a trash bin at a cleaning company.
Police dispatchers could not immediately confirm whether the charred remains were human, but said a police spokesman is headed to the scene.
This is the second time in a week that police have been called to a burned body in the Kansas City area.
No arrests have been made after a charred body was found in a wooded area of Lee's Summit. Police believe the remains belong to a missing Leawood man, but are still awaiting positive identification.
