Sacto 911: Investigators seek help locating homicide victim's vehicle

Sacramento County sheriff's homicide detectives are asking the public's help in locating a missing vehicle that belonged to a man found dead inside his burned apartment Sunday.

Stephen Sieck, 60, was found dead Sunday afternoon in his apartment in the 200 block of Selby Ranch Road in the Arden Arcade area. Sheriff's spokesman Deputy Jason Ramos said investigators have determined that Sieck was the victim of a homicide.

Assistant Chief Walt White of the Sacramento Metrolpolitan Fire District said fire investigators have determined that the fire was intentionally set.

Although Ramos declined to discuss injuries or the suspected cause of death at this time, he said Sieck is not believed to have died as a result of the fire. It appears that Sieck lived alone in the apartment, but his vehicle was missing from the scene.

The vehicle is described as a black 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe with New Mexico license plates and an Oakland Raiders emblem on the rear window.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the vehicle is asked to call the Sheriff's Department at (916) 874-5115.
