Halifax police name homicide victim
Halifax Regional Police have named 36-year-old Corey Duane Lucas of Halifax as the man killed in Friday's shooting.
Police answered a weapons call to 2711 Clifton Street in the city's north end and found Lucas dead and another man, also in his 30s, wounded.
"The autopsy on Corey Lucas was conducted today and confirmed he died as a result of injuries sustained from having been shot," police spokeswoman Lauren Leal said Sunday.
Leal said police are still looking for information about two white men aged 20 to 30 seen fleeing the building after the shooting. They ran north toward St. Albans Street and wore athletic clothing.
"Police don't believe this incident is random, as it has been determined to be drug-related," Leal added.
