Homicide Victim Described As Transvestite Prostitute

Shortly after 10:30 p.m. Saturday night, police were called to an area near East McMillan Street and Victory Parkway in Walnut Hills for a report of a shooting.

That's where they found a man shot in the parking lot of a Dairy Mart on E. McMillan. There was confusion initially about whether this was a man or a woman. Police later detemined the victim was a male transvestite that worked as a prostitute in this area.

The victim was taken to University Hospital where he died. He has been identified as 26 year-old Kendall L. Hampton.

Anyone with information about this homicide is asked to call the Cincinnati Police Criminal Investigations Section at 352-3542 or Crimestoppers at 352-3040.

Flint's battlefield: A three-year murder map

FLINT, MI -- There have been 189 murders in the city since 2010. Below is a map of the locations of each murder in the last three years, as well as the names of the slain on Flint's battlefield. The spike in murders occurred almost immediately after large-scale layoffs in March of 2010. By year's end the city had set a record with 66 murders, breaking the previous mark of 61 set in 1986. Killing continued in 2011 with 57 murders. A look at the map shows the majority of the murders took place on the north and east sides, historically the most economically depressed areas of the city. Just 25 murders in the last three years occurred south of Court Street. The map is color-coded by year.
