RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. -- Homicide detectives Monday are investigating the death of a man whose body was found outside a residence on the western outskirts of Rancho Santa Fe.

Sheriff's deputies were called to assist the Solana Beach Fire Department at about 11 a.m. on Aug. 17 regarding a man down outside a home in the 4600 block of Sun Valley Road.Deputies arrived and found the male victim's body outside the residence.Due to suspicious circumstances at the scene, homicide detectives responded to the location and conducted a preliminary investigation.Based on initial information gained from an autopsy, which was conducted on Saturday, the death was classified as a homicide.Homicide detectives and crime lab personnel returned to the home on Saturday and conducted additional processing of the scene.Investigators from the Encinitas Sheriff's Station, Homicide Detail and Crime Lab are participating in the investigation.The victim's identity has not been released. A cause and manner of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner's Office.10News spoke with a resident of the neighborhood and he confirmed that the home where the body was found is owned by Dr. Kenneth Gerber, a radiologist who has lived there for more than 20 years. The neighbor said things have been rough for the 62-year-old who has been sick in the past couple of years and has been having trouble staying in practice."Quiet neighborhood, usually have your windows open at night for the sea breeze and now you're not sure you want to do that," said resident Roger Walker about the incident.Anyone with information is asked to call the Homicide Detail at (858) 974-2321 or after hours at (858) 565-5200.

(Orange County Sheriff's Office, Orange County Sheriff's Office / Jun 20, 2012) Orange County murder detectives are looking for two people of interest in the shooting death of DeAnthony Ryles last month. Detectives identified the persons of interest as 23-year-old Lorenzo Holmes and 22-year-old Willie Bryant III. DeAnthony "D.A." Ryles was gunned down around 2:43 a.m. May 21 near the intersection of Lee Road and Kingswood Drive. Ryles and his friends first encountered another group of men at Firestone Live in downtown Orlando, and then later met at aMcDonald'srestaurant north of downtown. Flint's battlefield: A three-year murder map

FLINT, MI -- There have been 189 murders in the city since 2010. Below is a map of the locations of each murder in the last three years, as well as the names of the slain on Flint's battlefield. The spike in murders occurred almost immediately after large-scale layoffs in March of 2010. By year's end the city had set a record with 66 murders, breaking the previous mark of 61 set in 1986. Killing continued in 2011 with 57 murders. A look at the map shows the majority of the murders took place on the north and east sides, historically the most economically depressed areas of the city. Just 25 murders in the last three years occurred south of Court Street. The map is color-coded by year.
