A homicide investigation is underway into the suspicious death of a man in Rancho Santa Fe, authorities confirmed on Sunday.

According to investigators, deputies received a call to assist with a man down outside a home in the 4600 block of Sun Valley Road on Friday just past 11 a.m.

When deputies arrived, they found the body of a deceased male outside the residence.

Due to suspicious circumstances at the scene, homicide detectives were requested to conduct a preliminary investigation of the scene.
