HEBER SPRINGS, Ark. (KTHV) - A Heber Springs man pleads guilty to murder in the death of a Vilonia teenager.

Tuesday, Cody Gorecke, 21, plead guilty to murder, criminal use of a prohibited weapon, purchase or possession of alcohol by a minor, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana in the Cleburne County Circuit Court.

Wednesday, both the prosecution and the defense offered testimony for the judge. After this, Judge John Dan Kemp sentenced Gorecke to serve ten years in prison and pay a $ 10,000 fine on the murder charge and serve six years in prison for the use of a prohibited weapon charge. He ruled the sentenced to run consecutively. Gorecke was also sentenced to a total of six months in the county jail on the misdemeanor charges.

Gorecke was arrested Jan. 15, 2011 at his home in Wilburn. He was showing off a sawed-off shotgun when it fired, hitting 17-year-old Amanda Allison of Vilonia in the midsection.
