Suspect sought in four rapes, murder

CLEVELAND, June 14 (UPI) -- The FBI is offering a $ 10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of a suspect in four Cleveland rapes in which one victim was killed.

FBI Special Agent Vicki D. Anderson said forensic evidence has linked the suspect, who has not been identified, to four rapes dating to 1996, CNN reported.

"We're just hoping by reaching out to the media we can reach more people, and someone will recognize this guy," Anderson said. "Obviously, we don't want this guy out there making more victims."

All the attacks occurred in the Kinsman area of Cleveland, Anderson said.

The body of a woman who had been raped was found in February 1997 beneath a truck in a secluded parking lot, investigators said.

The FBI said the suspect's first known attack came in May 1996, when authorities say he allegedly abducted, raped and shot a woman, who survived.

Authorities said the suspect apparently raped a woman at knife-point as she was walking home June 18, 1998, and raped another woman Dec. 8, 2010.

The suspect is described as an African-American in his late 30s or early 40s, about 5-foot-8 and 150 pounds. He is believed to have a large scar on his cheek.

Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 800-225-5324 or the Cleveland Police Department at 216-623-5630.
