EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) - Prosecutors have dropped homicide charges against a southwestern Illinois woman in two heroin-related deaths after she pleaded guilty to lesser charges.

Angela Halliday of Moro had faced charges of drug-induced homicide for allegedly providing the heroin that killed Benjamin Berkenbile of Worden in April 2011 and Joshua Rogers in a Godfrey hotel room the next month.

But Halliday pleaded guilty Wednesday in Madison County to delivery of a prescription drug within 1,000 feet of a church.

The county's prosecutors have been reviewing pending drug-induced homicide cases since a judge last month acquitted a man in the heroin death of a 17-year-old girl. The judge said the evidence showed the drug delivery may have taken place in Missouri, not Illinois.
