Homicide squad probes possible drug link in man's death

Victorian homicide detectives are trying to work out if a man found dead at Doreen in Melbourne's outer-north had links to the drug trade.

Two of the 29-year-old's friends found him dead, when they went to his house in Kiora Avenue on Thursday night.

Detective inspector John Potter says the man was known to police.

"He has injuries to say that this is a suspicious death and as such the Homicide Squad has taken over the investigation," he said.

Police found substances in glass containers at the house, but they do not know what they are yet.
