Former Kentucky bus driver guilty of reckless homicide

A jury in western Kentucky has found a former bus driver guilty of reckless homicide in a crash last year that killed a 6-year-old student.

A Carlisle County jury found Anita Roach guilty of one count of reckless homicide on Thursday afternoon.

Roach was driving a Carlisle County bus that was returning students to school after a field trip.

The Paducah Sun reports Roach was found not guilty on several other charges, including second-degree assault and wanton endangerment.

Roach testified on Wednesday that she asked God why she didn't die instead of the boy, Logan Simpson. She told Logan's parents she would "have died that day" to let their son live.

She is scheduled to be sentenced later on Thursday.

Rush - Love, Life & Loss

This video looks at how the team cope in the aftermath of the explosion. If you don't watch the show, let me fill you in on a bit of the background: Grace, the girl at the centre of the video, is having an affair with Josh, a fellow member of the Police Tactical Response Unit. Her husband suspects but is in denial. Grace feels so guilty she breaks things off with Josh and decides to stay with her husband. But Josh wont leave it alone because shes the only person he has ever connected with and he knows shes not happy in her marriage. Eventually she gives in and decides to leave her husband so she can be with Josh but during a call to a building targeted by a disgruntled employee they are caught in a bomb blast in which several of the team are hurt. Grace seems to be okay at first but later collapses.
