Homicide suspect who escaped Friday Mark A. Jones still on the loose
Police are searching for Mark A. Jones, Jr., a 16-year-old escapee from Genesee Valley Juvenile Detention Center who is accused of killing a 73-year-old woman in 2010.
Mark A. Jones, 16, was being transported by guards from the Genesee Valley Regional Center, a juvenile detention facility, to New Passages Psychological Services on Corunna Road when he escaped.
Jones is charged with murder in the death of 73-year-old Merlyne Wray, who was killed in November 2010 her home on Leland Street near Fenton and Atherton roads. Jones was the youngest person Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton ever charged with murder
Police were originally looking in the area of Bradley Avenue and Gibson Street, but he was not located.
