Homicide on Fife Street

Winnipeg Police are looking into a homicide that resulted from a fight.

Officers were called to the 13-hundred block of Fife Saturday afternoon around 2.

They found a 36-year old man who had suffered serious injuries.   He was taken to hospital in critical condition, where he died Sunday.

Investigators determined an argument escalated into a fight.   There have been no arrests.

Javier Barker claimed that he had sent Dillon to bed the previous night but Dillon was upset and took a long time to fall asleep. Javier said he then fell asleep on the couch and didn't know Dillon was injured. But Jordan told a different story. Jordan said that he was concerned after hearing Dillon crying and had seen Javier step on Dillon's ankles in the bedroom.
