Manslaughter charge over cyclist death

Police have laid a manslaughter charge against a man over the death of a cyclist in Tauranga.

The 21-year-old forestry worker will face the charge in Tauranga District Court on Monday in relation to the death of David Armstrong, Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Turner said.

Mr Armstrong died when he was hit by a vehicle at the Lakes subdivision of Tauranga, 10km southwest of the downtown area, on January 8.
