Homicide victim found in Valrico home
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. - Investigators say a homeowner came home around 4:00 p.m. to what appeared to be a burglary at 1915 Erin Brooke Drive.
The owner immediately left and called authorities, according to a sheriff's statement.
When deputies arrived and searched the home, they discovered the body of a male in a bedroom. After a search warrant was secured, homicide detectives entered the home around 11:30 p.m.
Investigators were removing various things from the home, including a headboard, a scooter, and other items as late as Wednesday afternoon.
The victim had suffered trauma to the body, according to the statement. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
Detectives do not believe the incident is a random act and that the victim is known to the suspect(s).
The man has not been positively identified, but investigators believe he is one of the homeowners.
