UPDATE: Homicide Investigation in Kanawha County; Person Arrested

UPDATE 1/31/12 @ 1:25 a.m.
KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The suspect in a homicide that took place Monday in Kanawha County has been arraigned on murder charges.

John Edward Hudson, 38, is being held without bond for the murder of Michelle Gillespie.

Hudson is accused of shooting Gillespie behind the left ear at a home on Shorty Road in Winifrede.

A person who lived with her found her body several hours later.

An investigator made contact with Hudson after the shooting and convinced him to come to Charleston and turn himself in.

At the arraignment, Hudson told WSAZ.com the shooting was an accident.

Investigators tell WSAZ.com Hudson and Gillespie were acquaintences.

Hudson's preliminary hearing will be February 7th.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A person has been arrested in connection with the homicide that happened earlier Monday night in eastern Kanawha County, a spokesperson in Magistrate Court tells WSAZ.com.

That person is expected in Magistrate Court soon for arraignment.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Deputies are on the scene of a homicide investigation late Monday in Kanawha County.

Deputies say a body of a woman was found in a home along Shorty Road, which is just off Winifrede Hollow in eastern Kanawha County. That discovery was made Monday evening.

Investigators were called to the home just after 6:15 p.m.

No other details about the incident are being released late Monday night.
