Homicide suspect captured in New York
U.S. Marshals captured Richard Larry Nolden Jr., 21, was wanted in connection with the Jan. 23 shooting death of 18-year-old Sharrod Snellings.

York City Police wanted Richard Larry Nolden Jr., 21, in connection with the Jan. 23 shooting death of 18-year-old Sharrod Snellings.
When a warrant was issued for Nolden's arrest last week, U.S. Marshals took on the fugitive case and began searching for him, the news release states.
On Monday, deputies learned he was staying in Rochester, N.Y., and forwarded the information to its office in the state's western district.

About 5:45 p.m., marshals arrested Nolden in the 100 block of Scrantom Street in Rochester.
"We knew where he was at ... it was time to snatch him up," Rowe said.
As far as why Nolden was in Rochester, or how marshals learned of his stay there, both Rowe and York City Police Lt. Tim Utley declined to say.
Utley said he was pleased to hear from marshals that Nolden had been captured.
"Obviously, he's in custody - it's what we wanted," he said.
Nolden is being held in Rochester, and so police will now get to work on extraditing him to York, Utley said.
"The whole process of getting him back here begins," he said. "Hopefully, it'll be a quick process, but you never know."

Nolden was the third and final person sought in Snellings' death - two were suspects, the other, a witness.
York City Police arrested O'Brian Sipe on Friday in connection with Snellings' death, according to a news release. Sipe faces charges with criminal homicide, aggravated assault and criminal conspiracy. He is being held at York County prison without bail.

Detectives also spoke with a witness they had been looking for in the shooting, Utley said.
Jevaughn Demar Murphy, who was with Snellings, ran into the store and told people that Snellings had been shot, the affidavit states.
Another witness said Murphy then ran to his house and called York County 911, charging documents state.
Around 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 23, police responded to the shooting, finding Snellings lying facedown in the breezeway between 155 and 153 E. Philadelphia St., according to court documents. He had one visible gunshot wound to the back and no pulse.
Several witnesses in the area told police that they saw a blue or dark-colored SUV driving north on Queen Street at the time of the shooting, court documents state.
One witness said the vehicle slowed as it crossed the intersection, and someone in the driver's side of the vehicle began shooting in Snellings' direction. The vehicle drove off on Queen Street, and Snellings ran around the corner to Philadelphia Street, where he was found, documents state.
Two other witnesses said they saw a man firing a gun from the driver's side window of the vehicle, court documents state. An additional witness said he saw a man fire approximately seven shots from the driver's side window of a blue SUV.
One witness has positively identified Nolden from an eight-photo lineup as the driver of the vehicle who shot Snellings, court documents state.
Nolden allegedly rented a blue Ford Expedition Monday morning, shot Snellings around 1:30 p.m., and returned the rental car to the business a short time later, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
