Texas triple homicide suspect arrested in La.

LEONARD, Texas (AP) — A 52-year-old Texas man suspected of killing three family members is in custody in Louisiana.

Thomas L. Taunton is wanted by authorities in Fannin County in connection with the disappearance of three people. Authorities say they went to a home near rural Leonard Thursday and found evidence inside that suggests the three people missing are dead.

The three are 73-year-old Harold Harpst, 79-year-old Sue Harpst and 48-year-old Regina Taunton, who is Sue Harpst's daughter. Authorities won't say if Thomas Taunton is related to the three.

Taunton was arrested Thursday in Stonewall, La., after his truck broke down Wednesday. He's in the DeSoto Parish Jail in Mansfield, La., pending return to Texas. Jail records list no attorney for Taunton.

Leonard is about 60 miles northeast of Dallas.
