Baby murder mother faces hearing
Ineta Dzinguviene was found guilty of murder by a High Court jury
A woman jailed for murdering her newborn son is to face an extradition hearing over another baby's death, the BBC Scotland news website can reveal.
Lithuanian Ineta Dzinguviene was found guilty of killing the baby boy using plastic food wrapping on the day he was born in Fraserburgh.
The baby, later named Paulius Dzingus, was found in a bag in April 2010.
Dzinguviene is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday after a baby girl's death in Lithuania.
A Crown Office spokesman told BBC Scotland: "Following the execution of a European Arrest Warrant, in connection with an alleged incident in Lithuania, Ineta Dzinguviene will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today for an initial appearance.
"As extradition proceedings are now ongoing it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage."
Dzinguviene, 26, was jailed for a minimum of 15 years at the High Court in Glasgow last June.
'Wicked murder'Passing sentence, judge John Beckett QC told Dzinguviene she would serve at least 15 years for the "wicked" murder of a "defenceless and extremely vulnerable" child.
A jury at the High Court in Livingston found her guilty of her son's murder the month before.
BBC Scotland later revealed that the Lithuanian authorities had sent the European arrest warrant to Scotland in connection with the death of a baby girl.
It followed the discovery of a body in April 2010.
