Motorist with DUI history charged with vehicular murder.

Viet Quoc Nguyen, 25, will face vehicular-homicide, drunken-driving and other charges in a hit-and-run accident that killed a 21-year-old Westminster woman early Saturday.

Police said 21-year-old Jenna Breen was killed at West 118th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard in Westminster when Nguyen sped through a red light in his Porsche and slammed into the driver's side of her car.

The Adams County district attorney's office said Thursday that Nguyen also is charged with leaving the scene of an accident, driving under a license restraint and violation of a traffic-control signal.

Nguyen, of Federal Heights, had three drunken-driving arrests between between 2006 and 2011, court records show. He also had prior convictions for underage drinking, receiving stolen property, driving with a suspended license, drug dealing, theft, disorderly conduct and drug possession.

Flint's battlefield: A three-year murder map

FLINT, MI -- There have been 189 murders in the city since 2010. Below is a map of the locations of each murder in the last three years, as well as the names of the slain on Flint's battlefield. The spike in murders occurred almost immediately after large-scale layoffs in March of 2010. By year's end the city had set a record with 66 murders, breaking the previous mark of 61 set in 1986. Killing continued in 2011 with 57 murders. A look at the map shows the majority of the murders took place on the north and east sides, historically the most economically depressed areas of the city. Just 25 murders in the last three years occurred south of Court Street. The map is color-coded by year.
