Manslaughter charge laid in death of Iqaluit man

An Iqaluit man has been charged with homicide in the death of 36-year-old Matthew Petooloosie, who died last month.

Alec Petooloosie, 22, was arrested over the weekend and charged.

Police say Alec Petooloosie is the victim's nephew.

Matthew Petooloosie was found dead in an Iqaluit home on Dec. 12. Nunavut RCMP said police from Ontario, Quebec and the Northwest Territories helped with the investigation.

Petooloosie was scheduled to make his first court appearance in Iqaluit Tuesday.
