Columbia Homicide Victim Identified

Columbia, SC (WLTX) -Richland County Coroner Gary Watts has identified the victim a homicide on Saturday night.

The victim is 30-year-old Anthony Earl Onley, according to Watts. Onley died as a result of a gunshot wound.

Jennifer Timmons with the Columbia Police Department says the shooting happened just before 7 p.m. at the intersection of  Easy Street and Howe Street.

Watts said Onley lived in the 1000 block of Howe Street.

Officers say when they arrived he was already dead.

The shooter is described as being a male with dreadlocks, wearing a white T-shirt and possibly between the ages of 25-35 years old. So far no word on a motive.

The Richland County Coroner's Office is assisting with the investigation.

Timmons says this is the first homicide of the year for the Columbia Police Department.
