AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (KDKA) — A suspect in a triple homicide remains in police custody in Ohio awaiting extradition back to Pennsylvania.

Kevin Cleeves, 35, is being held in an Ohio jail, facing triple homicide charges.

Cleeves was arrested in Austintown, Ohio, which is near Youngstown, early Saturday morning, after an Amber Alert went out for his 4-year-old daughter, Leia, who he had with him. The little girl is okay.

State police said Cleeves got into an argument with his wife late Friday night in a custody dispute over Leia.

When he couldn't reach her on her cell phone, he drove to a home in Quincy – located in Franklin County, Pa. – where he saw her in a car with her boyfriend, identified as 28-year-old Vincent Santucci.

They quarreled, and police said Cleeves fatally shot Santucci first, then his wife and then he shot and killed Santucci's mother.

Cleeves then took off with his daughter, driving about 250 miles.

Austintown Police Chief Bob Gavalier said Cleeves' cell phone calls were traced, and he was taken into custody without incident near the Best Western Hotel.

Cleeves will have an extradition hearing on Monday.

He allegedly confessed to the killings when he spoke to his relatives in Michigan.

A police report says Cleeves was "mad and angry" at the time of the multiple shootings.
