Police arrest man in homicide on Windsor's west side

Windsor Police have arrested a 40-year-old man in connection with a homicide on Windsor's west end.

Police were called to Oak Avenue area at approximately 9:50 a.m. They found a 63-year-old woman dead inside the house.

Police said a resident of the home came home at 9:30 a.m. and found the woman, who was also a resident of the home. Police would not say how she died. They said it was homicide.

Police are also looking for a silver 2008 Ford Focus with the licence plate No. 731 XCA.

Crime scene tape is draped around a single detached home at 564 Oak Ave., between Wyandotte Street and University Avenue.

The major crimes unit is on scene. A forensics officer is on scene, scouring the scene and taking photos.

Police said there is one dead body on scene. Police will address the media just after noon.
