Homicide investigation after Tauranga death

Police have launched a homicide investigation after the death of a woman in Tauranga today. 

Emergency Services were called to an address on Bell Road in Judea, to a dispute between a man and a woman.

When police arrived just before 2pm, they found the woman dead by the driveway to the property.

Police believe they know who the woman is but need to formally identify her and notify next of kin.

No further details about her will be released until that process has been completed.

Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Turner said he could not speculate on the cause of her death.

"The investigation is in its very early stages, the scene is still to be examined and a post mortem will need to be held. It would be wrong of me to speculate about the cause of death this early in the piece," he said.

The scene has been cordoned off and a detailed examination will commence tomorrow.

Police say a man is helping with their enquiries.

They say it is understood that the man and the woman involved in the dispute were known to one another.

EVERETT -- Police on Wednesday were canvassing the View Ridge-Madison neighborhood in Everett after a man was found dead there the night before. Manslaughter charges possible in boy's death

Monroe police this week wrapped up their probe into the boy's Jan. 30 death and forwarded the case to prosecutors to decide if his parents should face criminal charges. Snohomish County deputy prosecutor Lisa Paul likely will begin reviewing the case in the coming days. She doesn't expect to make a charging decision in the near future, however.
