The homicide investigation involving a Colorado Springs fugitive pilot who stole an empty jet in Utah is still officially open.
Forty-year-old Brian Hedglin crashed the jet in the parking lot and committed suicide at the St. George airport.
Colorado Springs police said Wednesday that Hedglin is the only person believed responsible for the stabbing death of his ex-girlfriend Christina Cornejo.
However, police spokeswoman Barbara Miller says investigators still have some more work to do.
Cornejo was found dead Friday at Hedglin's home. Hedglin had been ordered to stay away from Cornejo and one unanswered question for police is why she was there.
The Gazette of Colorado Springs, citing court records, reported that Hedglin dated Cornejo for four years and was arrested in March after police say he had been harassing her.
