Homicide unit called to assist

HOMICIDE Investigation Unit officers have been called in to assist in the search for information on missing Warwick woman Gail Lynch.

HOMICIDE Investigation Unit officers have been called in to assist in the search for information on missing Warwick woman Gail Lynch.

Family members yesterday made a public plea for information on Mrs Lynch, who has been missing for 15 days.

"Someone has to know something," Mrs Lynch's sister Lyn McMillan said.

"You might think it's nothing, but let police know."

She said not knowing what had happened to her sister was agonising.

Police want to talk with anyone who may have seen a red carpet rug with a gold patterned border which they believe is missing from Mrs Lynch's Guy St unit.

It is described as being about 3m x 2m.

Regional crime co-ordinator for southern region Detective Inspector Darrin Shadlow said family members of Mrs Lynch noticed the rug was missing during a walk-through of the unit.

"We have known about it for a little while," Det. Insp. Shadlow said.

He also renewed a previous call for information from anyone who might have seen a blue 2004 BA model Ford Falcon sedan between Warwick and Toowoomba between 6pm on July 3 and 6am on July 4.

He said forensic officers were still pouring over the vehicle, which was seized last week from Toowoomba man Ian Hannaford.

Mr Hannaford was in a relationship with Mrs Lynch until a few months ago.

Det. Insp. Shadlow said Mr Hannaford was one of many persons of interest in the missing person investigation.

To give information call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
