LANCASTER -- A man found mortally wounded in his front yard was identified today as a 25-year-old Lancaster resident whose death is being investigated as a homicide. No arrests have been made in the slaying of Mantwell Anthony James. Deputies found James after being called to the 44200 block of Cedar Avenue at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to Deputy Tony Moore of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau. He died at a hospital. The man may have been shot or stabbed, according to a coroner's spokesman, who said an autopsy was pending. GARLAND COUNTY, AR – The Garland County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide that occurred Wednesday afternoon. According to the sheriff's office, the shooting happened at 251 Ledgerwood Road, off of Burchwood Bay Road. MP Tom Watson wants Daniel Morgan's 1987 death in south London to be examined by the Leveson inquiry into media standards. The case against four men charged with murder collapsed in March 2010. A Michigan medical marijuana grower has been charged with murder after authorities say he chased and fatally shot one of two men who tried to rob him. AnnArbor.com reports 50-year-old Robert Goupill of Milan, about 35 miles southwest of Detroit, was arraigned Monday in Monroe County. He's charged in Thursday's shooting death of 28-year-old Jerald Ogden of Ypsilanti. Goupill also is charged with manufacturing a controlled substance. Police say he was growing more marijuana than allowed under Michigan law. Goupill is due back in court March 19. A message seeking comment was left today with lawyer Edward Swinkey. The man behind the wheel of a fatal drive-by shooting nearly two years ago in Glendale has pleaded guilty to manslaughter. Jose Allan Gallegos-Mendoza, 26, pleaded Monday in 3rd District Court to the reduced second-degree felony charge in the death of José "Juan" Rubio-Navarro. Rubio-Navarro, 32, was shot June 24, 2010, as he sat on the curb in front of his home, eating breakfast and waiting for a ride to work. Police later arrested Gallegos-Mendoza, José Adrián Rodríguez-Ramírez and the victim's common-law wife, Maria Marta Campusano, in the shooting. Throughout the legal proceedings, Gallegos-Mendoza and Rodríguez-Ramírez pointed to the other as the triggerman. Rodríguez-Ramírez, who is serving 15 years to life in prison for killing Rubio-Navarro, told police he feared for his safety because Campusano's husband had learned of his affair with Campusano. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says a second person has been arrested in connection with the slaying of Abbotsford resident Ryan Saint-Ange , 21. Saint-Ange was found dead in his home in the 27000 block of 56th Avenue last month. It was Abbotsford's first homicide of 2012.
