Columbus police manslaughter detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on the city's east side Wednesday night.
Columbus police manslaughter detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on the city's east side Wednesday night.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Miller and East Livingston avenues at about 9:40 p.m. Wednesday on a report of a shooting.
Responding medic personnel found Justin L. Campbell, 30, lying near the intersection with an apparent gunshot wound.
Campbell was transported to Grant Medical Center with life threatening injuries. He was pronounced dead at 10:02 p.m.
Initial reports indicated that Campbell was shot in the neck.
Witnesses tell police they saw the suspects flee the scene immediately after the shooting.
It is unclear at this time what initiated the shooting, according to police.
