Homicide victim, 21, found in Fresno

A 21-year-old man is Fresno's eighth homicide victim this year, police said Wednesday.

Police Lt. Mark Salazar said officers found the victim in the 3300 block of North Sierra Vista Avenue just before midnight Tuesday. He was taken to a hospital where he died about a half-hour later.

The homicide appears to be gang-related and two detectives are investigating. It is not clear where the crime took place, Salazar said.

Last year at this time, there were 10 homicides in Fresno.
